Go to step 4, type gif into the search field on the right top of the window, and tap on the Make GIF action to add it to the shortcut. There is a difference in step 3, as there is no Add Action button since on the iPad and iPad Pro, the actions are listed on the right side of the screen and there’s no need for that extra step. Just to make sure that I wasn’t missing a step somewhere (note that I check my instructions repeatedly when I write how-to articles), I just erased the shortcut from the Shortcuts app, then followed the directions while on my iPad Pro. I have no doubt that it will work on a Mac running macOS Monterey in a few months.
